Meet Ferdinand, the mechanical cow. We use Ferdinand as a
training tool to familiarize horses with cow work.
The reined cow horse is a horse that is responsive, athletic, smart, versatile, and quick on
his feet. As a horse trainer my main goal is to help your horse reach his or her full athletic
potential and develop a solid reining/cow horse foundation. I am able to accomplish this by
developing trust with your horse by working in the round pen and first developing a
relationship. This relationship allows me to gain control of the mind and body of your horse
so the horse desires to do what I am asking as opposed to forcing the horse.
My training is focused on establishing a solid foundation of the basics. Then I gradually build
on that foundation to produce a finished, well-trained, soft, supple and responsive horse.
From foundation to finish, I will bring your horse to its full athletic ability. Every discipline
benefits from the solid foundation I put on a horse. Whether it is rollbacks, sliding stops,
leads changes, or turnarounds, I will get your horse to achieve the ideal softness and
collection to perform any maneuver.
My training methods help young horses just starting out on their way to happy, healthy, and
successful careers in a variety of disciplines, whether it is reining, reined cow horse,
cutting or you just desire a very well trained, responsive horse. Remedial horses are
provided an environment that promotes trust and security, which solves negative behaviors
and gets horses back on track for success. I will work with each horse owner and give
specific tools to improve communication with your horse so you can go home and continue
to see improvement in your horses training.
You are more than welcome to call and schedule a visit to observe me working with some
of the horses in training. If you are interested in booking training, please do so as far in
advance as possible. I typically am booked six months in advance.
Please see testimonials from some of my clients below.
I am so amazed at the level of training my horse received. He is so responsive and is so different than the ADHD gelding I brought to
Lyle a few months ago(: Best of all, Lyle taught me how to continue his training so I can work on spins, stops and lead issues at home. I
learned many different exercises to keep my horse progressing and learning at home. Some trainers train really well, but are not great
instructors, others instruct really well, but are not the greatest trainers. Lyle has the gift of both and that is rare! Julie
"My horse and I were in a rut that I could not find a way out of. In just 30 days the change is phenomenal. My horse is softer in my
hands, more supple and his willingness to work is a major improvement. Even his ground manners have changed. Riding is fun again"
I also took lessons and I am getting a lot more out of lessons than I ever have in the past. Lyle gets his point across by riding and
demonstrating on a horse that already knows its stuff, which is a lot clearer than having someone just tell you. It is like a lesson/clinic
combined. Western riding is a whole new language for me(coming from a dressage background)I am having a great time! Kathy &
Johnny
"If someone would have told me 60 days ago my horse would be doing all of this, I would of laughed. The before and after is
unbelievable. At Triple F they get the job done. My horse looks better than ever and I still am amazed every time I ride her. This horse
couldn’t lope on her left lead at all, now she does with no trouble, she can do lead changes, spins, stops on a dime and trots
backwards! Lyle is a true horseman and he genuinely loves what he is doing. He treated my horse so good I feel totally safe leaving my
horses there. The facility was very nice and well run. I still am in awe at what he has done with my horse; you would have to see it to
believe it." Denise and Bell, Portland MI
Lyle has the ability to read a horse like no other. I was having trouble with my horse so I took her to several other specialists to rule out
medical/behavioral conditions. A friend referred me to Lyle so I hauled my mare over there pretty hopeless. Well, after about 15
minutes of evaluating me and my horse Lyle hit the nail on the head. He explained what I needed to do to correct the problem and the
results are unbelievable. My horse and I now work together as a team and my horse understands me better than ever. Thanks Lyle, you
saved me and my horse! Thanks for being so honest. A very happy horse owner
"My horse was in for remedial training. I could not get him to do anything I asked. He came out of training a completely different horse,
he was responsive and respectful, he even looked so much better due to the regular workouts." Carol
"My horse is doing awesome! Lyle worked with me on how to maintain all of the things my horse learned in training. I watched the
training sessions regularly and he welcomed that." Kim
"We needed a really good start on our colt because we planned on showing him in some futurities. Lyle came highly recommended and
we got exactly what we needed, a horse very soft, collected and responsive. We are really looking forward to the futurities now!" Mike
"I was very leery about sending my horse to a trainer. I was relieved when I heard I could observe my gelding being worked any time. I
could watch Checkers being worked and the results were beyond my expectations. They really took good care of him and to top it off,
he is doing so nicely under saddle." Sue, Grand Rapids, MI
"I put my mare in training for 30 days and thought I would get a horse that was lightly started and I would have to do a lot to finish her.
When I went to pick her up she was backing, walking, trotting, loping circles and even some side passing. I was thrilled!" John, Grand
Rapids, MI
"I brought my daughters horse to Triple F Ranch because he really needed a lot of work and my daughter wanted to ride in 4H. I cannot
believe the difference after 60 days, he really is doing well and my daughter took some lessons before we brought him home. We were
extremely satisfied with the service provided to us." Gary, Grand Rapids, MI
"I cannot believe my horse is doing so well! All for a price that is so reasonable, you can’t beat it! My horse is all tuned up for riding
season now!" Jenifer, Lansing, MI
"I would advise anyone who values their horse to go and watch Lyle working with horses in the round pen. He truly has a gift of
communicating with horses. It is a spectacular performance to watch him bond with even the most difficult horse (like mine!) and
actually connect with them to form a trusting relationship." Mark
"I am very happy with the progress Lyle has made with my horse. I will feel more confident and safe when I ride. Thank you so much!!"

To My Valued Clients and New Clients:
As most of you know, I took a few years off from
training outside horses and I have missed it
immensely. Over the past few years I have
taken the time to, most importantly, spend
precious moments with my family. But I have
also had the opportunity to train several of my
own prospects and have shown at several
NRCHA events including the Snaffle Bit Futurity
in Reno and won the Heartbreak Ridge Open
Derby. I have learned and grown as a trainer
and I am ready to continue my journey and open
training spots for 2016. Please call for further
information or to book your horse in training.
